SO WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?
Revenue from Buzz Marathon helps fund the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) programs for the California Army Reserve National Guard soldiers stationed and “visiting” for training on base. Offers support to the soldiers and their families during deployment as well.

Camp Roberts Entry Requirements: Driver: Driver’s License, Current vehicle registration and proof of insurance (if out of date, you will be turned away). All passengers 16 and older need photo ID. People entering in a different vehicle but not participating in race must follow the same security measures. If possible, take care of your security clearance between 10 and 4 Tuesday thru Friday 2/13-16/2024
WEATHER
Moderate February climate upper 50’s to mid 60’s by day and upper 30’s to low 40’s overnight. Average annual rainfall is less than 15″ – low relative humidity.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
All races are run on the grounds of Camp Roberts, just north of San Miguel, California. Out-and-back course on paved road with dirt and packed gravel shoulders. Flat to gentle rolling hills, with breathtaking views of oak-studded hillsides, Salinas and Nacimiento Rivers and abundant Central Coast wildlife. Start line is at 620′ in front of gymnasium and rises to 997′ at the marathon turn-around spot.

PARKING
Parking on Convoy Parking Lot on California at Arizona. Short walk to the start/finish line.
AWARDS
T-shirt and finisher medal to all participants. Ceremony at noon to present Plaque to first place male and female in each race and Awards to age group male and female for each race returns this year. All marathon finishers 21 and older receive a bottle of wine as long as donated supply lasts.
The Camp Roberts MWR will host an expo on the athletic field (foul weather inside the Athletic Center) for your enjoyment and to support the CalGuard Morale/Welfare/Recreation programs on base. Bounce house, games, food truck, and vendors will be featured. This event also includes the Camp Roberts OPEN HOUSE.
PACKET PICKUP
The National Guard Army Museum is hosting packet pickup in the Museum Annex just inside the base security gate from 1-6pm (1300-1800 base time) on Friday the 16th. Race Day packet pickup will be at The Oak (start/finish) on the hill above and north of the gym on California just off Last Chance Rd. beginning at 6AM. Museum open for your enjoyment 10AM-4PM on Saturday. Packets may be picked up and security clearance handled Tuesday thru Thursday 10am-4pm February 13 – 15 in the emergency service trailer near security building.
COURSE TOUR
A course tour by bus might be available at 4:00pm (1600 base time) pending troop training schedule on grounds and course – a good chance to get parking/security taken care of before race day.
Gymnasium at starting line is closed for this year.
